DINAMO switch multiplexer (SWdec)
In order for the multiplexed connection of switches to work properly, you need a kind of "encoder" or "multiplexer". This seems more complicated than it really is as it is no more than a 1N4148 diode in series with each switch. You can make this yourself very cheaply. The only thing that can be tricky is connecting each switch to a unique wire pair combination.
Those who still look for a more structured solution can use the SWdec. This is a PCB on which the diodes for 8 switch connections are housed. The SWdec modules can be set to the desired address with a jumper and the switches can be connected with screw connections.
The SWdec boards are connected to a maximum of 8 pieces with a 16-core flat cable and connected to the TM-H or UCCI . On UCCI there are 2 flat cable connectors to which you can connect 2 x 8 SWdecs for a total of 128 switches. The TM-H has only 1 flat cable connector. You can also connect a total of 16 SWdecs for 128 switches. For details, see the TM-H manual or SWdec manual.
