The LokSound 5 L finds its place wherever the LokSound 5 no longer "fits" in terms of performance. These are ideal vehicles with a nominal size 0, but even smaller vehicles with lane 1 are no problem for the LokSound 5 L. Despite its compact dimensions of only 50.8 mm x 25.4 mm x 14 mm, it is equipped with a output with two speakers and an integrated PowerPack.
The Loksound 5 L is always equipped with pinheaders and is supplied ex works with an adapter plate with solder connection points.
modes
Like all family members, the LokSound 5 L is a true multi-protocol decoder. He masters the DCC data format as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. In the DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are as natural as 2 and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders log in fully automatically to a suitable digital exchange.
It controls all DCC programming modes and, thanks to RailCom®, the CV values on the main track can be read out with suitable control panels. There are auxiliary registers for panels that can only program CVs of 1-255.
Motorola® users benefit from a maximum of 28 speed steps with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable the activation of 16 functions. A built-in programming mode also makes reprogramming possible with the venerable control unit 6021.
The M4 protocol allows automatic registration with mfx® compatible panels.
The LokSound 5 L decoder recognizes the Märklin® braking distances as well as ZIMO® HLU braking commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or DC voltage is also possible. It also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An automatic ABC shuttle makes automatic commuting between two stations possible.
The LokSound 5 L decoder can be used on analog DC and AC tracks.

The LokSound 5 L decoder can play up to 10 channels simultaneously. Each channel can be resolved with a maximum of 16 bit / 31250 kHz and finally offers hi-fi quality on your system. There is virtually no difference with the original that is more audible. A dual Class-D audio amplifier with a maximum of twice 3 W output feeds the speakers, which can have an impedance of 4 ohms and 32 ohms. The enormous 128 Mbit sound storage offers sufficient capacity.
All individual sounds can be adjusted individually in volume. The super-flexible Soundengine without a rigid scheme makes the prototypical simulation of all conceivable rail vehicles possible. Three separately adjustable braking functions and two alternative loading scenarios give you maximum control over your vehicles.
Characteristics
Each LokSound 5 L decoder is supplied with 11 amplified function outputs. In addition, there are 6 extra outputs for the logic level that can also control (2) RC servos or SUSI expansion modules on request. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately. The decoder takes care of switching disconnection on and off for ROCO®, Krois® and Telex® couplings. 4 sensor inputs can activate functions on request.
motor control
The engine management of the LokSound 5 L has again been fundamentally improved. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures super quiet operation, especially in clock anchor motors - the typical "humming" is a thing of the past. The tax scheme can now be adapted to difficult cases with a maximum of 10 CVs. The unique "Autotune" function enables automatic decompression from the decoder to the motor. The LokSound 5 LDecoder supplies sufficient juice with a maximum of 3.0 A motor current.
